Ecolab’s Q2 2025 Earnings: What to Expect

Ecolab Inc. (ECL), with a market cap of $77.1 billion, is a global leader in water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions. The Saint Paul, Minnesota-based company delivers a wide range of services, from food safety and sanitation to optimizing water and energy usage, enhancing operational efficiency, and advancing sustainability efforts. Ecolab is scheduled to announce its second-quarter earnings for 2025 before the market opens on Tuesday, Jul. 29.

Ahead of the event, analysts expect ECL to report a profit of $1.90 per share on a diluted basis, up 13.1% from $1.68 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has consistently surpassed Wall Street’s EPS estimates in its last four quarterly reports.

For the full year, analysts expect ECL to report EPS of $7.50, up 12.8% from $6.65 in fiscal 2024. Its EPS is expected to rise 13.2% year over year to $8.49 in fiscal 2026.

Over the past 52 weeks, ECL stock has climbed 10.7%, slightly trailing the S&P 500’s ($SPX11.7% gains but has exceeded the Materials Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLB3.5% rise over the same time frame.

On Apr. 29, ECL shares rose over 3% after releasing its Q1 earnings. Its performance landed right on target, with adjusted earnings per share at $1.50 and revenue totaling $3.7 billion, both matching analyst forecasts. Additionally, the company struck a confident tone with upbeat guidance, maintaining its full-year earnings growth outlook of 12% to 15% and projecting a solid Q2 EPS range of $1.84 to $1.94, a move that reassured investors and reinforced market confidence.

Analysts’ consensus opinion on ECL stock is reasonably bullish, with an overall “Moderate Buy” rating. Out of 24 analysts covering the stock, 11 advise a “Strong Buy” rating, two suggest a “Moderate Buy,” and 11 give a “Hold.” 

ECL’s average analyst price target is $279.16, indicating a potential upside of 3.8% from the current levels.
